Writing blog Assignment #2

1. Do you agree with Kipling's message in this poem? Why or why not? Identify which of Kipling's statements is the most meaningful to you and explain why. Is Kipling's advice useful for people today? Why or why not?




Yes i agree because everybody has to grow up sometime.




Don't let your dreams or thoughts control your life in an unrealistic manner. Its meaningful to me because somepoeple don't know how to control there own life.




Yes it is useful today because people always need advice with there life







2. Kipling uses the terms man and son at the end of the poem. Why did Kipling choose to use these words? Does the term "man" apply to all humans or is Kipling implying that courage and leadership are masculine traits? Were the terms used to make the message personal or should we consider that Kipling's message accurately defines the requirements of any courageous person or leader?


He use those words because he talking about him and his son in the peom. He's implying that courage and leadership are masculine traits. I think it requires courage in a person and leadership.



3. Identify and explain Kipling's use of the sound devices; rhythm, rhyme and repetition.



If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken. If you don't want to hear the truth you've said. It means, if you don't want to hear what you've have said.

English blog assignment #1

How does being able to write change Christy’s life?



Christy being able to write changes his life because he is able to communicate with other people. Christy being able to write proves that she is not a hopeless case and not a waste of time. Christy can live a normal life and not get treated differently. Christy can get any job or career he wants now that he can write.



2. Who do you think is the main hero of this story?

I think Christy is the main hero in this story because she was able to learn how to write when people thought she was a useless case.



3. What do people like Christy Brown, Helen Keller and Christopher Reeve teach us about heroism?

Anybody can become a hero if they just try



4. What kinds of obstacles do people with disabilities face?

Some people with disabilities get treated like there different from one and another. They get called names.



5. What do Christy’s accomplishments indicate about human potential?

Christy's accomplishment indicates that human potential is very high, if you really try to do what you want.
